Do you want to work in the foodservice industry?

Inspiration Corporation offers a free, 8-week Job Training Program with paid training opportunities here at the Inspiration Kitchens restaurant! This program is for anyone 18 years of age or older who is interested in a sustainable career in the foodservice industry.

Training includes:

  • Hands on learning with Chef Trainers
  • ServSafe® Food Handler Certification
  • Kitchen Safety knowledge
  • Culinary techniques
  • Resume assistance
  • Job search support
  • A three-week paid training period
  • A four-week paid internship available after program completion!

Our next cohort will be starting on Tuesday, October 12th! The deadline to apply is Friday, October 1st! The following cohort will be starting in January 2022.

How do I enroll?

Please fill out the contact form below. After completing the form, a staff member will reach out to you to start the enrollment process! 

How much does the program cost?

The program is free. There are also three weeks of paid training during the 8 week program, and the option for a 4-week paid internship upon program completion.

What will I learn?

  • There will be lessons and resources on kitchen and knife safety, proper sanitation practices, culinary concepts, language, and techniques. 
  • You will work with our program staff and receive professional development skills ranging from resume writing to mock interviewing.
  • All participants will also receive help earning their ServSafe Illinois Food Handler Certificate.

Where is class held?

Training will take place in-person three days per week at our restaurant in East Garfield Park (3504 W Lake St). 

What kinds of jobs are available?

Our graduates find jobs in restaurants, deli counters, and fast casual establishments. Some graduates take what they have learned and continue their education in culinary school as well! 


Participants have the opportunity to earn their ServSafe Food Handler Certificate. Those who complete the program will be eligible to earn the ServSafe Managers Certificate as well.
